Here at the Wings Museum we have the most complete collection of artefacts recovered from the Reigate Hill Boeing B-17 that crashed into the hill on 19th March 1945, with the tragic loss of all on board.
The full story and dozens of artefacts are on display in the museum for all to see, including a watch from one of the air crew and a fragment of gunners googles. We will be taking some of these important finds for a display at Gatton Hall for a special remembrance ceremony taking place on the anniversary of the crash on 19th March 2025 being conducted by the National Trust.

The Wings Museum carried out a licenced dig of the crash site several years ago with the co-operation of the National Trust and the MoD and these artefacts have been painstakingly preserved for display in the Wings Museum in remembrance of the crew who were so close to making it home.
